Auburn has been shaped by prominent historical figures, including abolitionist Harriet Tubman and Secretary of State William H. Seward, who both called Auburn home. Tubman’s legacy as a freedom fighter is honored at the Harriet Tubman National Historical Park, which keeps her memory alive and offers inspiration to our students about the importance of courage and compassion. The Seward House Museum also provides a window into the life of Seward, an advocate for abolition and a leader in American politics.
